Overview

NOTE: You are registering as a virtual attendee. The classroom sessions of this training occurring in Wilmington, NC will be available for remote attendees via Teams.

Attendee Level

Virtual attendees will also receive a certificate electrically upon completion of the electronic course feedback survey. If you plan to watch the session as a group, all attendees must be individually registered prior to the start of the training to receive their own certificate. Once the session has ended, then one group member can send the list of additional individuals who viewed the training to transcaer@chemtrec.com. 
 

You only need to register for one session. Each virtual session will present the same information on both days, this format helps to cover multiple fire department shifts.

Description

Classroom Sessions: 

Railroad 101 + ICS During Rail Incidents: Learn about railroad operations, hazards, and safety rules. Rail hazmat safety and emergency response procedures are reviewed, along with how railroads can integrate unto your unified command structure and the resources available to you when responders to an incident on or near the railroad.  

AskRail® Mobile App: Learn about The AskRail smartphone app - a safety tool giving first responders immediate access to accurate, timely data about what type of hazardous materials a railcar is carrying.  

Ammonia Properties & Emergency Response: An overview of anhydrous ammonia, including its chemical and physical properties, placards, labels, containers, tank construction, and the hazards and potential outcomes associated with an anhydrous ammonia incident.

Schedule for Virtual Attendees: 

8:50 – 9:00 AM– Login to Teams Link (Note: The link is provided in your event registration confirmation email).

9:00 –10:00 AM – Responding to Railroad Incidents + AskRail® App (1.0 Hour)Presented by: CSX Transportation  

10:00 – 10:15 AM – Break 

10:15 – 12:15 PM – Ammonia Emergency Response & Ammonia ER Guide Cards (2.0 Hours) 

12:15 PM - Virtual Session Ends
