Railroad Hands-On:

Flatcar Rotation: Protective Housing Review, Valves/Fittings, and common leak points

DECIDE Rotation: Simulated Derailment with leaks allowing trainees to utilize the DECIDE Process they learned in class to Identify commodities, leak points, and utilize resources to establish initial isolation zones to plan their first hour on site.

Nutrien Classroom:

Anhydrous Ammonia Safety and Response for Fire Departments. This will prepare the first responder to safely approach and mitigate a transportation emergency involving anhydrous ammonia, including the chemical and physical properties of NH3. 

Nutrien Hands-On:

Nurse Tank/Farm Tank construction and anatomy along with response considerations.

Important Details

  • An evening edition of the trainings will be offered on May 21st.
  • Required Safety Gear: Safety Vest, Hard Hat / Fire Helmet, gloves, safety Glasses, long Pants, and Steel Toe or composite toe Boots.
  • Please advise the instructor(s) of any pre-existing medical condition(s) that may preclude you from participating in any field exercise. Stay hydrated and alert.
  • Be at the site by 8:30am for registration. Depending on registration and training needs, the training schedule may be adjusted prior to event.
  • Registration will remain open until after the event. Walk-ins are welcome to register on-site at the training event, however we strongly encourage pre-registration.
