Overview

The course is intended to familiarize community emergency responders  with hazardous materials which are transported by rail. The course is taught from a rail industry and hazardous materials perspective.  The goal is to improve understanding of the hazardous materials regulations that apply to land transportation and in particular, to the railroad industry.

Description

This 4 hour course consists of two sections, a class room presentation and a hands on section working with valves and appurtenances from railroad tank cars.

 

Important Details

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR HANDS-ON WORKSHOP

Solid shoes, preferably high top boots are recommended and full length
pants are required. No sandals are permitted. Gloves are optional, but
recommended. Depending on the location of the training equipment in a
rail yard facility, hard hats and safety glasses may be required.

Registration will remain open until after the event. Walk-ins are welcome to register on-site at the training event, however we strongly encourage pre-registration.
