Training Day Includes the following:

    3.Chlorine Emergencies – A, B & C-Kits (Kuehne Chemical Company)

    4.Leak Mitigation Operations (Flat Car)

    5.Applying C-Kit and Midland Kits (Tank Cars)

    6.Passenger Train Incident Response    (NJ Transit)

Training attendees will be divided into groups and will rotate through each of the above 1-hour training modules throughout the day

Description

Track 1: Awareness Level Training for Responding to Transportation Incidents (2-Hours)

Track 2: HazMat Ops/Tech Level Training (6-Hours)

1.Rail Tank Car Anatomy  (NS, CSX and Conrail) Rail Car 101 and Locomotive Emergencies

2.Tank Truck Emergencies (Crestwood/Dana) - Tank Truck Anatomy, Equipment, Valving during normal vs. emergency incidents.

3.Chlorine Emergencies – A, B & C-Kits (Kuehne Chemical Company) Apply the A, B and C-Kits as instructor discusses responding to Chlorine emergencies.

4.Leak Mitigation Operations (Flat Car) - Students will grab the tools and mitigate protective housing valve assembly leaks and releases under supervision of Dow Chemical Response team instructors.

5.Applying C-Kit and Midland Kits (Tank Cars) - Students will apply these kits while on top of the safety train's rail cars.

6.911, What’s Your Emergency? –Passenger Train Incident Response    (NJ Transit)  General guidance on responding to passenger train incidents and emergencies.

Training attendees will be divided into groups and will rotate through each of the above 1-hour training modules throughout the day

 

 

Important Details

Required Safety Gear: Please wear safety shoes or sturdy shoes/sneakers; no open toed sandals, shoes, or flip-flops allowed on the equipment.  ID's may be checked as well.

Please advise the instructor(s) of any pre-existing medical condition(s) that may preclude you from participating in any field exercise. Stay hydrated and alert.

Be at the site by 7:30AM - depending on registration and training needs, the training schedule may be adjusted prior to event.

Maximum Students=80; Registration will remain open until after the event if session is not full. Walk-ins are welcome to register on-site at the training event, however we strongly encourage pre-registration on the transcaer.com website.
